The Muse by Jessie Burton

You had me at….

The pretty cover.

A few weeks ago, I was perusing through the library when I decided I’d pick out a book from a genre I hadn’t visited in awhile.

This led me to historical fiction, which led me to this book. And obviously, there’s a reason I was drawn to the cover. It’s so dang pretty.

Fingers crossed for a good book.

Anywho, on to last week’s little Book Marked “Review” for ya!

Genre: YA Fantasy

Swearing: None (shocker!)

Synopsis: Girl disguises herself as a dude to escape a fate worse than a bad hair cut.

Little Book Review: Love triangles are an automatic response to stressful situations.

Inappropriate content: There’s something called a breeding house… which I feel doesn’t need more explanation. Just think about it. Also, the main character spends the book checking out the HOTNESS of the men around her. So, that gets gross after awhile.

Rating: 📚📚of 8 (Eight points=Creative story idea, dynamic for it’s genre, easy to read, enjoyable, strong lead characters, good villain, believable and shipable romance, overall execution)

Overall: Kind of an expected disappointment.

✨Also, I announced this past week on my social media that I’ll be launching my YouTube channel this Saturday. So, woohoo. Get all excited! Yay! Or whatever.✨
