Today’s Fictional Friday prompt: write a haiku that challenges yourself and others.
I remember writing a haiku elementary school. And even at that early age, I grew very fond of them. (I mean, how freaking cool is the word “haiku”!) They’re short, sweet, and simple. But if done right, those 17 syllables can have such a true and impactful meaning.
Mine isn’t as good as most, I know, but it’s something that’s been on my mind. Because while it’s nothing new, I think it’s an encouragement anyone (but especially the introverts like me) need to be reminded of. Because while writing can be an admirable hobby or career, sometimes I focus more on the imaginary lives in my head versus my own life.
The world’s a blank page,
Waiting for you to get out
And write your story.
